Epilepsy and social cognition

In this project, we aim to understand the neural mechanisms of social cognitive functions in the mesial temporal lobe and frontal lobe epilepsy. Evidence has shown that people with epilepsy have difficulties in understanding social cues in the environment and responding to these cues. As you can imagine, these difficulties have a huge impact on the employability and mental health of caregivers and individuals with epilepsy too!
We are investigating the neural correlates of these changes in the hope to design effective intervention for this population!
